I am looking for a new laptop for portability. I want something lightweight and durable that will last me many years. It also has to be of the size that I could take it to class and take notes but not so small that it is going to ruin my eyesight. I am comfortable using any OS and am open to any manufacturer.

You want this Dell laptop
I had the bigger model that I used to take to class last year. I saw a few people with these and played with a friend’s. It’s very light weight but I personally didn’t like how small the screen was. You can’t go wrong buying a Dell. Their service is very good if something goes wrong. Whatever you do, don’t buy that crap they sell at Best Buy. It’s WAY overpriced and unreliable. Dell has several sizes of notebooks. Just check out their web site.
it needs to have centrino (intel) or turion(amd) processors, to have 9 cell of batery (at least), and to be fabricated with magnezium. soz for my english

I think u should go for a fujitsu. They have everything u r looking 4. And they’re quite nice and they’re manufactured only in Japan, and they’re very hardy.
keeping all u’r requirements in mind, the verybest that comes 2 mind is the dell xps m1210
a little expensive at $ 1200
it has everything built in
12.1″ screen may seem 2 strain u’r eyes, but no worry it’s built-in
12.1″ Widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800) display with TrueLifeTM
>> this is a premium notebook & so on pricier side
> durable, longlife & 4.37 lbs

also the dell inspirion e1405 is great at $ 689
just add
1. Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005, $ 29
2. 14.1 inch WXGA+ UltraSharp™ TFT Display with TrueLife, $ 10
>durable, longlife & 5.3 lbs
both value 4 money, suggest u choose any one that suits u overall
dell prices r amongst most competitve & hence my suggestion !
